"Draculas" Making Vampires Scary Again

This is not your daughter's vampire novel.

There are no pretty pale immortals, locked in a valiant struggle to overcome their bloodthirsty nature. The Draculas embrace their bloodthirsty nature. In fact, they revel in it.

And they're not pretty.

It all begins innocently enough when eccentric millionaire Moritmore Moorecook purchases the so called "Vampire Skull." After coming in contact with the fangs, he morphs into a hideous monster, right in the emergency room of a rural hospital. He goes on a rampage, attacking anyone and everyone, turning his victims into Draculas too.
No one in the hospital is safe, not even the clown. (yes, there's a clown in this book).

Of course there's a small band of brave wise-cracking heros, standing up to the hordes. They are hopelessly outnumbered and even when they do manage to overcome the monsters, the things just regenerate and come right back at them. Before the night is over, the hospital is piled high with blood and gore, and you don't know how these guys will get out of this. Or if they will.

Reading "Draculas" was like sneaking into the drive-in for a double feature of the original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "Night of the Living Dead." It's a gory scarefest and not for the weak stomached.

In the introduction, JA Konrath says he wanted to make vampires scary again. He and his cohorts, Blake Crouch, Jeff Strand and F.Palu Wilson, succeed in doing just that.

The ebook comes with lots of bonus material--short stories, alternate endings, author interviews and biographies, just like a DVD. Pretty nifty, eh? And you can purchase it here:
