| The soccer mom with a taste for murder |
Congratulations. Out of the billions and billions of websites floating
out there in cyberspace you've found mine. Welcome. And while you're here, please sign the guestbook at the bottom
of the page. By all means, express yourself.
I am the self-proclaimed Soccer Mom with a Taste for Murder. I punch out a novels of sex, greed
and murder between laundry loads and nagging my daughter to do her homework.
My latest novel Tree Huggers is available right now, this very second. Just click here. And if you want to reduce your carbon footprint, plus save a few trees, you can download it as an e-book.
Single mom Kate Dennison finds her new reporting job at a local paper is not at all what she expected. On
her first day, two men die in a fire set by a radical group called The Forces of Nature and Kate is assigned to cover
the story, including the trial of the young man charged with the crime. As she works to unearth the truth, she finds her own
life is in danger and she is forced to make some difficult choices.
Read a chapter here.

BROTHER, CAN YOU SPARE A TIE?
(Or how I went looking for Sarah Palin's $150,000 wardrobe and ended up with a tie from Dennis
Kucinich and books from Ralph Nader)
In addition to donating all proceeds from Tree Huggers to Phoenix Employment Ministry,
I'm also a volunteer there. With the advent of the Great Recession, we're in a double bind. There are now more homeless and
nearly homeless people needing work, just as our generous donors are feeling the pinch and giving less.
So I asked the Republican National Committee for Sarah Palin's $150,000 wardrobe. They said no.
Undaunted, I decided to hold my own PEM fundraiser, selling items of clothing worn by everyone
who ran for president in 2008. After many phone calls, e-mails and faxes, I ended up with three ties from Gov. Bill Richardson
(D-NM), Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) and Gov. Mike Huckabee (R-AR), a autographed glossy photo of Mayor Rudy Guilanni (R-NY)
and five signed books by Ralph Nader (Green Party, DC) Ralph Nader only had two ties and wasn't about to part with either
one of them.
I auctioned everything on eBay during the week of the Presidential Inauguration. We took in
close to $300, with Mike Huckabee's tie going for the highest amount $187.50. And while I didn't get anything from Sarah Palin,
her office called our office and e-mailed us to tell us no. Hillary Clinton's office just sent me to voice-mail and left
it at that.
Anyway, it was a lot of fun and I found out that Republicans are very nice people. Or at least
their devoted staff people are.
To celebrate, I came to my PEM volunteer shift, dressed like the woman herself, as you can see in
the photo to the left. Not something I want to do every day. I felt like a hundred and fifty thousand bucks, but
I had this irresistable desire to go out and shoot a moose.
